Independence Day

Today I am thankful for our independence as a nation. In recent years there have been many attempts to encroach upon the freedom of God-fearing people. It is my hope that we will as a nation stop taking for granted the blessings we enjoy. If not for the stability brought by the Gospel of Jesus Christ, even many of the opponents of our society would not have the freedom to stir up their messes. Ultimately I know there is no lasting peace and prosperity due to any government of man. God has granted us this season. Let us be grateful.

Individually, I'm frequently reminded of my failings and shortcomings. I am thankful for the true and lasting freedom that comes with being a child of God, coheir with the King of kings, and citizen of the Kingdom of God. May we each remember that none of this freedom came without a great cost.

As a musician among the warriors,
