For Fatties Like Me

Hey, just a helpful tip for fatties like me. :-) Hehe. Yeah, I'm a bit chubby. I'm not trying to be mean-spirited. I love to eat, and when I'm not lugging gear for a steady run of shows, whether playing bass or doing sound, I tend to get less exercise than I should. I work out semi-regularly, but it's the amount that I eat that really gets me in trouble.

So for years I've loved tea. Recently I've begun to drink it in all sorts of forms...whether it be hot, cold, sweetened (artificially with Splenda because I'm allergic to aspartame), Kenyan style, and bizarre. Also I've begun drinking coffee. I'm not a morning person, so I find one or the other helps me get my day started. By having a large glass of either during or after a meal, or between, I find I don't eat nearly as much. I'm also getting a steady stream of water in my diet, which I admittedly don't drink nearly enough.

Think about this. Compared to so many other things I could be stuffing into my chubby face, coffee and tea are basically free. Even considering I add things to them that have a bit of calories, I still end up with much less than I would by satisfying myself with junk food between meals. Add to all of this a bit of increased alertness, and I think I've got a win-win situation here. I mean, sure it's taken me an hour and a half to type this because I'm so jittery I have to keep going back to correct errors.... but what a small price to pay. OK, OK, just kidding on the last part. I do feel like I need to go run or something though. Hey! I think I'll go work out.
